Quartz is the second most abundant mineral in the Earth's continental crust. here are many different varieties of quartz, several of which are semi-precious gemstones!
Pure quartz, traditionally called rock crystal, is colorless and transparent or translucent.

This is a beautiful specimen with a smattering if smaller crystals on the side. Some parts may look to have dust on it, however that is tiny crystal growth!

Smokey quartz is a variety of quartz.  The color can vary from brown to almost black to smokey gray. Natural smokey quartz often occurs in granitic rocks which have a small but persistent amount of radioactivity. Durable, It’s a 7 on the Mohs scale for hardness.
It is thought to be a very protective and grounding stone, bringing physical and psychic protection. Also an excellent stone for protection from negative energy, as it removes negativity of any kind and transforms it to positive energy.
