Labradorite No Ordinary Stone!

Labradorite is a member of the Feldspar family, known for its remarkable play of color, termed labradorescence. The stone is composed in layers that refract light as iridescent flashes of peacock blue, gold, pale green, or coppery red. The resulting color effect is caused by rays of light entering a layer and being refracted back and forth by deeper layers. 

Labradorite is usually a blocky crystal shape that rarely forms free of the host rock and therefore does not usually show full crystal forms. However, it is found as small crystals imbedded in gabbros (Gabbro is a coarse-grained, dark-colored, intrusive igneous rock). Labradorite was First discovered in Labrador, Canada. 

Inuit say Labradorite is the frozen fire of the Aurora Borealis, an ordinary stone that transforms to the extraordinary, shimmering in a mystical light that separates the waking world from unseen realms. 

For self-discovery, it is excellent for awakening one's own awareness of inner spirit, intuition and psychic abilities.It is also a protective stone, creating a shielding force throughout the aura and strengthening natural energies from within.
